Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

Do I need a visa for Ghana?
Zambian passport holders can travel to Ghana visa-free. A landmark mutual visa waiver agreement exists between Ghana and Zambia to encourage tourism and regional connectivity.
What documents are required for entry?
You must have a passport valid for at least 6 months beyond your departure date. Additionally, a valid Yellow Fever vaccination certificate (Yellow Card) is mandatory for all travelers entering Ghana.
Are there any other health requirements?
Ghana is a malaria-risk zone; it is highly recommended to consult your doctor for malaria prophylaxis before travel. It is also advised to carry mosquito repellent and drink only bottled water.
What exactly is "Detty December"?
It is West Africa’s most vibrant festive season, running from mid-December through New Year’s Eve. In Accra, this means a non-stop calendar of world-class music festivals (like AfroFuture), elite beach parties, and high-energy nightlife.
Which festivals will I attend?
Your package includes entry to one major Afro-inspired music festival or high-profile concert. For specific event lineups, we recommend following local hubs like BlacVolta on social media as the season approaches.
What should I pack for the trip?
Accra is hot and humid in December (24°C to 32°C). Pack lightweight, breathable fabrics like cotton and linen. Don’t forget "Afro-chic" outfits for the parties, a portable fan, a power bank, and comfortable walking shoes for tours.
What currency is used in Ghana?
The local currency is the Ghanaian Cedi (GHS). While some major hotels and high-end spots accept Visa cards, Ghana remains a cash-heavy society. We recommend carrying a mix of cash (USD or ZMW to exchange) and your Visa card.
Is the trip safe?
Accra is generally safe for tourists, but like any major city during peak season, we advise staying alert. Use our private transfers and officially marked taxis (like Uber or Bolt), avoid walking alone at night in unfamiliar areas, and keep your valuables secure.
Why are lunches and dinners not included?
Accra is a culinary capital! We exclude these meals to give you the freedom to explore the city’s world-class dining—from the fusion flavors of Coco Lounge to authentic local staples like Jollof rice and Kelewele at spots like Buka.
How soon should I book?
Immediately. December is the absolute peak season for Ghana. Flights, luxury hotels, and festival tickets sell out months in advance, and prices surge as December approaches.
Can I upgrade my experience?
Yes! You can add VIP festival tickets, private yacht charters, or a professional photo shoot to your package at any time, subject to availability.
Is travel insurance included?
No. Comprehensive travel and medical insurance is not included in the package price and must be arranged independently to cover trip cancellations or medical emergencies.
